Eric Lesser has served as State Senator of First Hampden & Hampshire since 2014. A Longmeadow native, Eric has long demonstrated a commitment to civic service in the local, state, and federal arenas throughout his political career. After working on Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, Eric become the Special Assistant to White House Senior Adviser David Axelrod and later served as Director of Strategic Planning for the White House Council of Economic Advisers. Eric is a strong supporter of Western Mass. communities, introducing legislation to promote transportation between Western Mass. and the Boston area, as well as acting as a leading voice in combating opioid abuse. His contributions to the LGBTQ community include helping repeal Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, co-sponsoring a bill to ban conversion therapy for minors, and co-sponsoring a bill to extend public accommodations protections to transgender people. MassEquality PAC is proud to endorse Eric in his campaign for re-election.
