Sonia Chang-Díaz is the first Latina elected to the Massachusetts State Senate. She is serving her fourth term representing the 2nd Suffolk District, which is comprised of all or part of the Boston neighborhoods of Dorchester, Jamaica Plain, Hyde Park, Mattapan, Mission Hill, Roslindale, Roxbury, and the South End. In addition to her advocacy for education and neighborhood safety, Sonia has been a long-time champion of LGBTQ rights in the State House. Her sponsored bills include the 2014 anti-bullying bill, which added protections for LGBTQ students, and the recent bill extending anti-discrimination protection to transgender people in places of public accommodation. Sonia Chang-Diaz has proven her commitment to LGBTQ rights, and MassEquality PAC is proud to endorse her campaign for re-election.
