He was elected to the Boston City Council in 2013, and currently serves as the chair of the City Council’s Committee on Civil Rights. During his first term on the Council, Josh created the Boston Trust Act, which worked on improving trust and cooperation between immigrant communities and law enforcement, and convened hearings to address the unique challenges that LGBTQ seniors face in finding affordable and welcoming housing. He has also advocated for easier access for voting registration, and after Trump was elected, he led the Council in passing a resolution in support of immigrants with Temporary Protected Status (TPS). Josh is currently a member of the Boston Ward 5 Democratic Committee, and a board member of the Lenny Zakim Fund. The MassEquality PAC is pleased to endorse Josh in his campaign.
