Shami’s outstanding performance in the semi-final against New Zealand led to a record-breaking seven-wicket haul, earning him the Player of the Match award.

At the age of 33, Shami emerged as the leading wicket-taker in this edition of the World Cup, claiming an impressive 23 wickets from just 6 matches. He showcased exceptional skill and consistency with an average of 9.13 and a strike rate of 10.91, the best among all bowlers in the tournament.

Shami’s remarkable performance earned him the Player of the Match award in Mumbai, contributing to India’s 70-run victory over New Zealand.
