The five-match T20 series is set to kick off on November 23 in Vizag and wrap up in Hyderabad on December 3. According to reports, with Hardik Pandya still recovering from an ankle injury, Suryakumar Yadav is expected to lead the Indian team in the upcoming T20 series against Australia.

Pandya sustained the injury during the 2023 World Cup and will need at least two months to fully recover. As a result, he is likely to miss several T20I and ODI games, including the matches against South Africa. Yadav has previous leadership experience, having served as vice-captain during India’s tour of the West Indies and led both the Mumbai team and the India Under-23 squad in the past.

Following the expiration of Rahul Dravid’s coaching contract after the ODI World Cup, the BCCI has approached VVS Laxman to serve as a temporary coach. Additionally, the support staff from the National Cricket Academy (NCA) will oversee the team during this transitional period.
