Hardik was a crucial asset to the Mumbai franchise, contributing to four of their five titles from 2015 to 2021. He then moved to the Titans and led them to victory in their inaugural season.

After much speculation, Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans officially announced that Hardik Pandya will be rejoining the Mumbai franchise for the upcoming IPL season in 2024.

Hardik’s move to the Titans followed his significant role in Mumbai Indians’ title victories from 2015 to 2021. Despite leading the Titans to the title in 2022, reports of his return to Mumbai Indians emerged due to the team’s need to match the Titans’ Rs 15 crore annual fee. The deal also involved the transfer of Australian all-rounder Cameron Green from Mumbai Indians to Royal Challengers Bangalore.

In a joint statement released by both teams, the Titans acknowledged Hardik’s desire to return to Mumbai Indians and wished him well. Mumbai Indians expressed excitement at having him back in the squad, with Nita Ambani and Akash Ambani both sharing their happiness and expectations for his future with the team.
