England’s Shoaib Bashir earns first Test call-up at just 20
Shoaib Bashir was selected by England to attend the UAE Camp in early November. He managed to secure his place in the team for the upcoming Test series against India, surpassing renowned players from England’s domestic circuit such as Liam Dawson. Bashir was born on October 13, 2003, in Surrey, England, to parents of Pakistani origin. He made his highly anticipated first-class debut at the age of 19 earlier this year, facing off against former England captain Sir Alaistair Cook. Bashir’s dedication and talent shone through as he claimed an impressive tally of 10 wickets during the County season. Today, his unwavering determination has finally paid off, as he has earned a spot in the squad for the upcoming India vs England Test series, commencing on January 25th.
