Usman Khawaja Opens Up About the Unique Connection Between His Mother and David Warner After Sydney Test

Usman Khawaja and David Warner have been close friends for over thirty years. Khawaja recently spoke about the special connection between his mother and Warner following the final Test of the series against Pakistan on January 6.

Warner bid farewell to his Test and ODI career in style with a remarkable victory over Pakistan, and he took the opportunity to reunite with his family. However, it was his embrace with Usman Khawaja’s mother that caught everyone’s attention, with the picture quickly going viral on social media.

Speaking to the media, Khawaja revealed that his mother loves Warner and affectionately calls him ‘Shaitan’ (Devil). “My mum loves him. She calls him Shaitan. Devil. Satan. My mum loved the fact that he was the devil,” Khawaja said.

Usman Khawaja and David Warner have been friends for decades, playing together since they were six years old. From backyard nets to international cricket, their bond has only grown stronger despite their individual successes.
