Son of ’12th Fail’ Director Shines with Consecutive Centuries in Ranji Trophy

Agni Chopra, son of filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra, has made waves in the Ranji Trophy with consecutive centuries.

Agni Chopra, son of renowned filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra, has impressed cricket fans with back-to-back stellar performances in the Ranji Trophy. Debuting for Mizoram, the 25-year-old batsman scored an impressive 166 runs against Sikkim, followed by 164 against Nagaland in the next match.

Despite the challenges faced by Mizoram, Agni’s significant contributions have solidified his position in the premier red-ball tournament in India. Born in Detroit, Michigan, USA, on November 4, 1998, Agni is making a name for himself in the world of cricket, following the success of his father’s film ’12th Fail,’ released on October 27, 2023.

Agni began his cricket journey in Mumbai’s junior teams, playing various Cooch-Behar Trophy matches. He then moved to Mizoram, making his debut in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match against Chhattisgarh last October.

Despite a modest start, Agni has quickly become a force to be reckoned with, participating in seven List-A and T20 matches, scoring a total of 174 and 234 runs in each format, respectively. His recent performances in the Ranji Trophy have marked him as a rising star in Indian cricket.
