India’s star all-rounder doubtful for 2nd Test with a hamstring niggle. Rahul Dravid reacts.
Ravindra Jadeja’s dismissal in Hyderabad raised concerns about his hamstring injury, casting doubt on his availability for the second Test in Visakhapatnam starting on February 2. Rahul Dravid, the head coach, confirmed Jadeja’s struggles in a post-match press conference and expressed his intention to consult the team’s physio for further information.
‘We’ll see. I honestly haven’t had a chance to speak to the physio as yet. Once I get back, I’ll speak to him and see what it is about,’ Dravid informed the media. With only four days until the second Test, Jadeja’s recovery may extend beyond the timeframe.
Despite Jadeja’s earlier contributions, including a five-wicket haul and an impressive 87-run innings in the first Test, his injury casts a shadow on India’s performance and raises concerns about their chances in the upcoming match.
Dravid also expressed disappointment in India’s failure to maximize their opportunities in the first innings of the previous Test, emphasizing the need to build more pressure and secure a stronger position in the upcoming matches.
