Bihar’s 12-Year-Old Vaibhav Suryavanshi Makes Historic Ranji Trophy Debut Against Mumbai Amidst Age Fraud Claims

Suryavanshi’s cricket journey started at the age of six, and he joined a cricket academy at seven. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, from Bihar, has made history as one of the youngest players in Indian first-class cricket. His debut in the Ranji Trophy match against Mumbai at the Moin-ul-Haq stadium in Patna makes him one of the youngest players to play mainstream first-class cricket. While his exact age is uncertain, Suryavanshi stated in an interview that he will turn 14 in September 2023.

He recently played for the India U-19 B team in a series against England and Bangladesh, scoring 177 runs in five matches. Suryavanshi also performed well in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy 2023 and represented Bihar U19 in the Cooch Behar Trophy match against Jharkhand.

Suryavanshi’s early debut and talent reflect a promising future in cricket. The state association’s decision to grant him his first-class debut at such a young age is a testament to his potential.

Even Sachin Tendulkar, a legendary cricketer, made his first-class debut at 15 years and 232 days old.
