Jasprit Bumrah has become the fastest Indian fast bowler to reach 150 wickets in Test cricket, achieving this milestone in just 34 matches. His exceptional bowling skills were evident in the ongoing second Test against England in Visakhapatnam, where he claimed crucial wickets with a lethal spell.
Surpassing the previous record held by Kapil Dev, Bumrah’s feat is truly remarkable. His bowling average of over 20.7 is the third-best among bowlers with 150 or more Test wickets, only surpassed by England’s Sydney Barnes and Australia’s Alan Davidson. Bumrah has also achieved nine five-wicket hauls in Test matches and currently stands as India’s 17th-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket.
Additionally, Bumrah is among a select group of six Indian players who have taken over 100 wickets in South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia. With 113 wickets, he trails behind Anil Kumble, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Zaheer Khan, and Kapil Dev. He also shares the distinction of having the second-most five-wicket hauls (six) in these nations for India, alongside Zaheer Khan and Bhagwath Chandrasekhar, only surpassed by Kapil Dev.
