Following successful leadership in Australia’s World Cup 2023 campaign, superstar cricketer Pat Cummins became a hot commodity at the IPL 2024 auction. After intense bidding, the Sunrisers Hyderabad secured his services for a whopping INR 20.50 Crore, making him the second most expensive acquisition in IPL history. Cummins expressed excitement about joining SRH in a video message and looks forward to playing with fellow Aussie Travis Head.
On the other hand, Mitchell Starc also made headlines with a massive Rs 24.75 crore deal from the Kolkata Knight Riders, breaking Cummins’ record and becoming the most expensive IPL purchase. Starc will return to the IPL after eight years and, along with Cummins, surpassed Sam Curran’s record as the most expensive player in the league’s history.
