All football matches in Albania are postponed following the tragic death of Ghanaian international footballer Raphael Dwamena. The 28-year-old collapsed during a match between KF Egnatia and Partizani in Albania’s top division and despite efforts to save him, he could not be rescued. The Ghana Football Association expressed their condolences and stated that Dwamena had represented Ghana wholeheartedly. Prior to his sudden passing, Dwamena had a history of heart problems and had previously collapsed on the field during a match in 2021. Despite the setback of a failed transfer to English club Brighton due to a medical issue, he continued to play for clubs in Spain. All football events in Albania have been suspended in light of his untimely demise.
