Cricket fans globally are thrilled to witness Dhoni’s return in the upcoming IPL 2024, set to start on 22 March. In the 2023 season, the 2011 World Cup-winning captain led CSK to their fifth IPL title after defeating the then Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans.
Former Team India captain, MS Dhoni featured in an ad for the smartwatch brand, Fire-Boltt. The CSK skipper received compliments for his dapper tuxedo look, but some fans criticized him for teaming up with Indian rapper MC Stan.
After a photo of Dhoni and Stan together was released on social media, fans quickly reacted. They began criticizing the former Indian skipper for collaborating with the Indian rapper for a smartwatch ad. MC Stan gained fame after winning the reality show, Big Boss 16, hosted by Salman Khan. He is a well-known figure in the rap industry with a massive following of 10.7 million on Instagram.
Dhoni underwent knee surgery earlier in 2023 and is currently going through rehab. He is expected to be fit ahead of IPL 2024. In the recent IPL auction 2024, CSK managed to pick up impactful players like Rachin Ravindra (Rs 1.8 crore) and Daryl Mitchell (Rs 14 crore) from the World Cup 2023. Additionally, CSK is excited about India’s star bowling all-rounder, Shardul Thakur’s return to the team after purchasing him for Rs 4 crore.
