Amroha district magistrate Rajesh Tyagi announced the proposal and spoke to ANI about it. Shami has been a standout player in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023, contributing significantly to his team’s journey to the final. Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) party leader Jayant Singh has advocated for providing funds to facilitate the construction of a sports facility in Shami’s village. Shami’s dominance against left-arm batters has been especially impressive, and he is currently the highest wicket-taker in the tournament. Shami will be seen in action when India takes on Australia at the World Cup 2023 final at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday.
