The Unexpected Most Searched Cricketer on Google in 2023: Not Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Travis Head, or Pat Cummins

Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Travis Head, Pat Cummins and others were trending players on social media in 2023. Google’s Year in Search 2023 highlighted the most searched athletes, with cricketers being a hot topic due to the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in India. Rachin Ravindra, a New Zealand all-rounder of Indian-origin, was the most searched cricketer in the world on Google in 2023, followed by India’s Shubman Gill. Ravindra surprised everyone with his powerful performance in the 2023 World Cup, where he was the highest run scorer for New Zealand.

Born to Indian parents in Wellington, Ravindra has played for New Zealand in the 2016 U19 World Cup and the 2018 U19 Cricket World Cup. He made his List A debut against Pakistan in November 2020 and was part of the New Zealand A cricket team for practice matches. He also played in India during his off-seasons and was in the Kiwi squad for the World Test Championship final in June, as well as making his international debut against Bangladesh in September 2021 in a five-match T20I series.
