Vince McMahon, a wrestling icon, resigned from WWE’s parent company the day after a former employee filed a federal lawsuit accusing him and another former executive of serious sexual misconduct. The lawsuit alleges that McMahon forced the employee into a sexual relationship to get and keep her job, and distributed pornographic material of her to other men, including WWE employees. McMahon denied the allegations and stated that the lawsuit is filled with lies and made-up instances. He stepped down from the board of directors at WWE’s parent company amid an investigation into the allegations. The lawsuit was filed in US District Court in Connecticut, where WWE is based. McMahon stated that he intends to vigorously defend himself against the accusations.
The AP typically does not name accusers in sexual assault cases, but Grant’s representatives said she wished to go public.
