Yashasvi Jaiswal, set to open alongside captain Rohit Sharma in the second T20I against Afghanistan, impressed with his 34-ball 68 in Indore.
Coach Rahul Dravid has confirmed Jaiswal as the preferred opener alongside Rohit Sharma for the upcoming Mohali T20I. Despite missing the first match due to injury, Jaiswal showcased his talent in Indore. His aggressive 68 off 34 balls, along with Shivam Dube’s unbeaten 63 off 32 balls, led India to a comfortable six-wicket victory, chasing down the 173-run target with 26 balls to spare.
In an interview with BCCI.tv, Jaiswal expressed his enjoyment of batting and shared the guidance he received from Captain Rohit Sharma. Reflecting on a run-out incident, he humorously commented on his decision-making process. He also discussed his partnership with Virat Kohli and expressed his determination to continue working hard.
The third match is set to take place in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
