KL Rahul Makes History as First Indian Captain to Win Against SA in ODI Opener

India wins 1st ODI against South Africa with a dominating eight-wicket victory. India ODI skipper KL Rahul led the team to their fourth-biggest ODI victory and became the first Indian captain to win a Pink ODI match.

Pink ODI match is a tradition in which the South Africa cricket team shows support for breast cancer awareness by wearing pink jerseys. Cricket South Africa urged citizens to participate in this cause by wearing pink shirts and the cost of matches goes to support breast cancer initiatives.

India now leads the three-match series 1-0. Arshdeep’s maiden five-wicket haul helped South Africa to be all-out for 116. In reply, debutant B Sai Sudharshan scored 55 not out off 43 balls and showed why he is highly rated. He was supported by Shreyas Iyer, who scored 52 off 45 balls.

Indian pacers rattled South Africa with the ball jagging around for the first hour and a half, which caused trouble for the home side.
