Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar expressed his joy during his visit to Sachin railway station in Surat, Gujarat on November 28. He mentioned that the station’s name foresaw the cricketing phenomenon of Sachin Tendulkar. The station was actually named after Sachin village in the last century, which is known for its industrial area, particularly the Sachin GIDC (Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation) estate. Sunil Gavaskar referred to Sachin Tendulkar not only as his favorite cricketer but also as his favorite person. Gavaskar, the first player to reach 10,000 runs in Test matches, transitioned into various roles after his playing career and currently serves as a prominent cricket expert. Despite not having the opportunity to play alongside Gavaskar, Tendulkar expressed regret, and their camaraderie continues to resonate in the hearts of fans.
