The upcoming T20 World Cup will be held in the West Indies and USA from June 4 to 30, 2024. Kieron Pollard, a former West Indies captain and T20 World Cup winner, has been appointed as an assistant coach for the England men’s team. With over 600 matches in the shortest format, Pollard is considered one of the best all-round cricketers. His expertise and experience will be crucial for the team’s success in the tournament. This appointment comes after England’s disappointing performance in the 50-over ICC World Cup 2023. Pollard’s extensive T20 experience and familiarity with Caribbean conditions will be beneficial for England’s struggling white-ball teams. The T20 World Cup will be Pollard’s second coaching role, following his stint as the batting coach for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.
