The 2023 National Sports Awards has been announced by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Mohammed Shami and 25 other sportspersons will receive Arjuna Awards for their outstanding performance in Sports and Games. The awards will be presented by the President of India at a function at Rashtrapati Bhavan on January 9, 2024. Additionally, other awards will be conferred upon individuals and entities in various categories including Dronacharya Award, Lifetime Achievement in Sports and Games, and the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Trophy.
