Sai Sudarshan broke records with his impressive performance on the crease during the Indian cricket team’s tour of South Africa. He scored 55 runs off 42 balls, making history as the fourth opener to achieve this feat on their ODI debut. However, the first Indian batsman to score a century on his ODI debut was KL Rahul, not Sachin Tendulkar or Virat Kohli. Rahul accomplished this milestone on June 11, 2016, during a match against Zimbabwe in Harare, scoring 100 runs off 115 balls, including seven fours and one six. He secured his century with a six on the third ball of the 43rd over, leading India to victory. Rahul’s performance surpassed the previous record set by Robin Uthappa, who scored 86 runs on his ODI debut. Currently, Rahul is leading India’s ODI team during their series in South Africa, which includes three T20s, 3 ODIs, and two Test matches.
